Insurance for funerals, (Funeral Plans), are unlike most other types of policies in that it is more of a "when" than a "what if" insurance.

In the United Kingdom today many people are purchasing life insurance funeral policies so that they themselves can plan to have their funeral carried out to their own wishes.

It seems a very straightforward thing to want to do, however, as with any type of insurance, you need to be sure of all the facts.

Funeral Plans
Funeral plans are usually pre-paid funerals. The idea is that the client pays for the funeral at today's costs and the money is invested in a trust. When the death has occurred the trust will then pay the chosen Funeral Director the cost of the funeral service at the prevailing costs. This in turn ensures that the deceased family will usually not have to pay any extra for the service required.

The trusts are nowadays run by professional organisation
